Royals Reach Final at London Soccer Dome

Cambridge Utd Tournament

U9 Welwyn Pegasus Royals had an Easter to remember when they took part in the
Cambridge Utd FC Tournament at the fantastic indoor London Soccer Dome on
Saturday 30th March.

The Royals who hadn't played or trained for weeks because of the adverse
weather conditions went into their group matches a bit rusty but full of

The tournament comprised of four groups of four with the top two teams from
each group progressing to the main cup competition and the bottom two playing
for the shield.

The Royals played well in what was a very competitive group stage winning their
first two and drawing the last of their matches, which saw them through to the
main cup.

Pegasus won their 1/4 Final 2-0 which put them through to the Semi Final of the
Cup which they went on to dominated although only managing to score one goal
but that was enough to see them through to the Final.

The Final was against a team the Royals had already beaten in their group stage
but this time it was a game to far as the Royals lost out to a wonder goal in
what was a very close match.

All the boys, parents and coaches from Welwyn Pegasus had a great experience
and sent a BIG thank you to James Cutting and his Cambridge Utd team for a very
well organised  tournament.
